Just A Whisper
It was just a whisper,
Barely audible in the cool night air,
Spoken softly, tenderly,
In my ear …..
Did I really hear those words?
Above the sound of the waterfall,
Cascading from a mountain top,
And crashing at our feet,
It was just a whisper,
In truth, I didn't hear,
So I didn't answer,
Did you say “love”?
I smiled, held your hand,
It was just a whisper,
Yes ….. Love,
