 The soft touch of heather
Upon this planet of millions
Only one holds my heart
And even if the world
Creates oceans to divide us
Mountains to obscure my view
Like a balloon filled with hot air
Filling my soul with love
I feel her breath always

I reach up to the heavens
And write her name upon a star
For even if Gods plan fails
And destiny parts us
I will always be with her
For all eternity

Even when my body is dust
And my ashes mix with a summer breeze
We'll never part, entwined together
Always and forever
The soft touch of heather

(written in 2006) There are many, many poems written on this site, spanning many years of encounters with woman. Some have touched my heart, other have broken it, others have been like passing ships in the night. But no other woman has ever touched both my heart and my soul, like this one. If i died tomorrow i know that i can safely say that i have loved someone more than anything in my life.
