Heart Of The Matter

You See Me, My Friend

You see me laughing,
Smiling, friend,
You see a carefree spirit,
Dancing on an eastern wind,
Immersed in a rainbow of love and light,
Frolicking in a field of gold,
Or beneath a canopy of stars,
In a velvet blue sky,

You see me pensive, friend,
Alone on a sandy beach,
The wind in my hair,
My eyes searching a great ocean of tears,
My thoughts cast to the far flung horizon,
To be plucked from a distant sky,
And held in reverence by one who would care,

You see me by a sunset loch,
Its colour vibrant in the evening light,
At peace, and with true contentment in my soul,
Calmed and bathed in the pure essence of God's love,
Nurtured and healed in His light,

~~~~~~~~~~~~
You do not see me, my friend,
Wounded and thwarted by dark seeds of jealousy,
And poisonous whispers in the night,
Spoken by vitriolic vipers,
Who squirm in their self made slime,
In an attempt to bleed me,
And destroy,
You will not see me, my friend,
Distracted by mischief and deceit,
Or troubled by childish pranks,
From delusional schoolboy mentalities,
Who lurk in the dark alleys of revenge,
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

See me as you do,
Smiling friend,
Watch me dance to your wondrous song,
Love me, take my hand,
And walk me on golden shores.
