She told me she'd had a brain tumour,
It was removed but it could grow again!
And she was so terrified that if it did she'd die!
And the fear was driving her insane!
‘I have no hope for a future!' She told me,
‘There is nothing left for me to do,
I am not a strong or focused person;
And I can't fight the same as you!'
So I looked right into her eyes,
And firmly this is what I did say!
‘I have had two brain tumors!
But I am still alive this day!
Mine grew back, so what?
Maybe yours will too!
But it doesn't mean we give up!
We just do what we have to do!'
So then…
She was looking into the mirror before her,
Namely that mirror was me!
But for her, it was not a reflection she saw,
It was hope! It was hope that she'd see!!!
She looked to the mirror in wonder,
And said to me as her tears did flow;
‘I thought I was going to die!
But now I know that's not so!'
She looked to the hope in her heart!
And saw the hope in me!
And now she has turned her thoughts around;
And is focused, as she should be!
And because I didn't die; she is no longer afraid!
