That night I found him hanging from a tree
He was dead already it appeared to me
He was at that time my very good friend
Why he did it I could not comprehend
By a rope he was swinging gently in the wind
The first thought in my head was, this is a sin
God does not want us to take our lives
No matter what happens we must stay alive
A charming young man once quiet and strong
To end his young life was so very wrong
At once I ran to lift him by his feet
To lighten his heavy body as I began to weep
But his weight was too much for my weaker frame
A neighbour ran for a knife as I cried out his name
He fell like a ton of bricks upon my back
We hit the ground with a great impact
He started to gurgle and he gasped for breath
So very weak and very close to death
For a while he layed there completely still
But then he opened his eyes by sheer force of will
He looked at me through tears of remorse
Mumbling "Why did you stop me.......
My wife wants a divorce!"
