Poetry For Everyday People

My Dear Poem

Did I drop my hints
successfully?  did I
touch the right spot,
did I kiss you gentle
enough, should I kiss
you hard?  can't breath
without your approval,
can't sleep in this world,

you posses a time machine
and I need to connect, your
smile is a kind-of sun to
me, I wish I could free us,
where can we dream without
pain? did you read my eyes?
you know more about me than
most, should I be drinking
a beer with  you?  are we sane
enough for beer?

Florida clouds, Florida rain,
rain beating down, Hemingway
I'm drinking a beer for you, for
me, I'll meet your ghost again,
cigar smoke dancing in need,
moon confidentiality, lovers
in the hot nights heat,
sticking like candy.
