 Going Overboard

You focus your mind on one thing,
dismissing needs of all else.
feeling you deserve to fill your desires,
instead, you begin to lose your composure.

If you jump in shallow waters,
will someone be there to stop you?
If you fall into muddy waters,
will someone be there to pull you out?

Denial is a crutch many are in rejection to recognize.
By allowing yourself to remain in this condition,
you alone are brainwashing your dreams
to a point no one will be visible to your needs.

I am not alone, you tell yourself!
So you continue to jump, only as a shadow,
you keep it up till you vanish from reality,
Going overboard, once more, taking a plunge,
but think again, it could be a bottomless well.

Your mind is a powerful tool,
save yourself, for yourself,
swallow your pride,
grab the logic,
and wake up to reality.
