Reflections of My Perceptions

Sand Storm

The sky was reddened by a dusty wind
from a dry land deadened by the sun's unrelenting grin
so sudden it seemed unnatural, a capricious whim
from calm to flooded, an almost human spin
mixed in with the rain was a sandy sting
as if my face and hands were pricked by pins
mercilessly the grains rained upon my skin
with such intensity did they to hide all things
I found myself trying to see with my limbs
helplessly flailing, frail as a string
but at the point when my mood was most dim
I found my way home, eluding the grim
