This is written for the gift I received from a Cornea donor, so I might be able to see better, that in death they will help another see and for the family who in their grief, still helped some one else.
I can't see so good
It is not such a good thing
It is dangerous
It is depressing
So much is missed
Sight is such a gift
You take it for granted
Until you lose it
You are told there is one option
A Cornea transplant
I think, someone has to die
To offer you this gift
The family in grief
Abides by their loved ones wishes
To the donor and family
I send these words
Thank you
for your generous gift
Seeing Through Your Eyes
I will try to see all the beauty
The beauty of children playing
The purples of the mountains
A rainbow after a refreshing rain
Snow flakes in a quiet forest
Animals fat and sleek
Butterflys alit on noses
As the children swing
Fields of flowers
An Eagle in flight
A blue sky with fluffy clouds
The stars shining down at night
I will wonder as I see them
twinkling, which one is you
I will light a candle for you
each and every night
Thanking you
for giving back my sight
Seeing Through Your Eyes

I encourage everyone to sign a donor card, let your family know, that you wish to be a donor, so you may live on through someone else who needs your gift.
