Reflections of My Perceptions

One Day In Baghdad

One day in Baghdad, there may be no bloodshed
But not today
Today, someone may be beheaded
Others will be shot to death
Or a bomb will rip through a market
The killing fields will be harvested,
The house of cards will be carpeted
with blood and bodies, regardless
random killings, cold blooded, ice hearted
women and children often the hardest hit
American soldiers in the midst of the carnage's
brutal impact will also be targeted
While least affected, those in Washington who started it
Because in a few years they will play no further part in it
