I had a chat with God today,
And told him of my plight,
I always have a chat to Him,
Every single night!
I know that He is busy,
Helping with this and that,
Sometimes He may not have the time,
To have that little chat!
So I'm always very patient,
And take my turn in line,
For at the end of the day,
God is so good and fine!
He always fits me in,
And never seems to worry,
That I have Him up the wall,
And I'm always in a flurry!
I rarely ask for help for me,
It's usually for others I pray,
The thing is this, He knows me well,
And He hears me every day.
I try not to trouble Him though,
For He is a busy bod!
And after all, when said and done,
He's a very special God!
He's helped me through such trials,
Kept me strong and true,
If it hadn't been for Him,
I wouldn't have pulled on through.
Lately I've felt abandoned,
And thought He'd forgotten me,
But I was wrong, as usual,
He was there, I just didn't see!
So I told Him that I'm sorry,
For having such a doubt,
And I know for all my life,
He will always help me out!
So I had a little chat today,
And told Him of my fear,
‘Don't you worry Catherine!'
He whispered in my ear.
‘I will always be beside you,
Every step of the way,
I will never abandon you,
I'll be here every day!
Lose the fear,' He whispered,
‘Don't you fret or worry!
For you will always live with hugs,
So don't get in a flurry!'
He said when I'm in bed at night-
His love will keep me warm,
And never will He hurt me!
He'll protect me from all harm.
'I have a special job to do!'
He whispered once again,
'To mend your broken heart,
And help you ease your pain!'
I told Him that a friend told me...
He mends the broken heart,
'Of course I do!' He told me,
And this is the day to start!'
I'm sad I thought He abandoned me,
For that was really bad,
But as usual, He forgave me,
And told me not to be too sad!
God is a good God!
And He does mend the broken heart!
My friend was right after all...
Now it's time for my fresh start!
…So tonight I'll smile a little smile…

…And thank Him very much…
For protecting me like that!
Life changes and alters even when we think it can't!
My life is always full of hugs and caring;
Compassion and empathy...
But mostly, mostly now...
It's filled with an abundance of love.
God sent a wonderful man into my life,
And into my heart, the very heart...
That I thought could never mend...
