We all have problems, trouble and strife,
No-one said it was easy, this thing called life!
But to win, to lose, we have a choice you see,
But losing is not, an option for me!
The strength and the passion inside of me,
Is all that's needed, for me to be…!
Who and what I am today…
Because I finally made it all okay!
I fought back hard and fast to prevail,
And so lived to tell this sorry tale!
To let it out about my plight…!
How the flame distinguished from my light!
For the strength and passion within me is true,
And to keep moving up, I had to pull through!
Time and time and time again…
All my life was riddled in pain!
But did I waver, did I falter, did I fall?
Yes, of course, the answer's yes to all!
I'm not invincible or eternal - I'm just me,
Basically what you get is what you see…
We all of us suffer within our life…
Yes, of course this is true!
But when we are down or sad of heart,
We do what it is we have to do!
We play the game, make our move,
And work through this game of chess,
And beat back the enemy of defeat!
But it's not easy, I have to confess!
The game of life is hard sometimes,
And sometimes we've a fight on our hands,
Things happen, good and bad,
And things happen that weren't in our plans!
But to go forward into the light,
We need to continue the game of life,
Move the chess pieces around the board,
And eke out and remove our strife!
For me this game is good and bad,
We move forward and sometimes back,
But I have found in my worst times,
God has always cut me some slack!
I've had sadness in my life like many,
But of happiness, I've also had plenty!
Life is just like a game of chess…
Pieces and pawns everywhere - a mess!
Then as the game will of course progress…
We collect pieces from this game of chess.
We win, we lose but we should always prevail…
For in every chess game, there's another tale.
…So…
Put the pieces aside until the time is right,
For this game is over, like day to night!
When the board is clear and the pieces gone,
We start again, another day done.
