Missing and hoping, and missing and praying-
That's the games of the heart;
It hurts so much, you cry inside,
Every time that you are apart!
Your mind won't stop the thoughts,
Or the feelings deep inside your heart;
You can't get them out of your head,
No matter how long you're apart!
So you do your best to stay strong,
But you cry inside, oh but you do,
And every day seems like a week,
For the time goes so slowly for you!
Missing and hoping and missing and praying-
That's the games the heart plays each day,
And so it will, and things won't alter,
Until you're together forever one wonderful day!
And until then you do what you do,
And try and keep strong inside,
But no matter what, no matter how;
Are the feelings of pain you just can't hide!
So you talk to your head, and talk to your heart,
And tell yourself to focus and try…
Try to keep the positive thoughts in your head,
But inside your heart you will cry!
You want to be with each other so much,
But the time just isn't right,
So you tell yourself to be patient,
As you cry yourself to sleep each night.
Because no matter what you tell yourself,
Your heart just can't comprehend;
As to why you are apart…
And why peace won't become a friend.
So each night as you lay down your head,
You ask this Icon above…
To help unite two broken hearts,
And sprinkle them with His love.
But until then you do what you can,
And keep yourself strong and true;
And before you know it, just like that;
Your turtle dove will fly home to you!
And so my window is always open,
Ready for him to fly home again,
Two hearts together, united forever;
Never to feel any more parting pain!
