Poetry For Everyday People

Memories That Save

It's the perfectly
timed kiss on my cheek
twenty years ago
when all my senses
were open
and you forever
came in,

the way we turned
a flat-bed truck
into a friend's corner,
the way we made a
flashlight
more powerful
than the moon,

it wasn't about
childhood
holidays or we'll
meet again,

it was too good
to relive,

we were writing
our forever.
