Painted face masked deceit
I wear it very well
Am I happy am I sad
You can never tell
Hid behind this odyssey
That's never black or white
Do the eyes tell the story?
Sometimes I think they might

Dare not point a finger
There's only me to blame
Masks for all occasions
A fake is all you'll see
Painted bits of plastic
Never sharing the real me

When did it all begin?
So lost now inside myself
Freedom I'll never win
Recollections of what was me
Dispelled in the wind
What's behind the mask
A yearning for the end.
