Poetry is music waiting to be sung
In time the singer will come along
For God has given a gift to each man
It is up to each one to carry out his plan
Each person that crosses our path each day
The Almighty God has planned it this way
Sitting high in the heavens upon his throne
He positions us for a time that he has known
The gifts He gives us is to glorify Him
For it is He that puts each gift within
A new generation is now being birthed
To sing His praises here on earth
Come quickly now to answer His call
For the prophecies are being played out for all
Poets are songwriters and some prophets too
For in some words a message is given to you
So let your eyes and ears be open to this
Words put to music can exalt our Lord Jesus
A song is not a song until it's been sung
A poem is not a song until the singer comes along
These gifts are given also to exhort and edify
The church which is the body of Christ
So come forth ye poets and singers too
For the Holy Spirit has spoken words through you
