Through endless nights of groans and moans
He stumbles around his room alone
This once before quite man
Who offers help to all he can
Has been transformed before my eyes
Into a horrid dragon in disguise
Tis the curse of radiation chemotherapy
Which has changed my dearest hubby
Alas the growth of hidden cancer cells
Has cast a bad disappearing spell
I have to say I've met Jekle and Hyde
Where once before he did abide
He was the most lind guy on earth
A soft spoken child from birth
The strain on his raw nerves begun
To rob him of his joy and fun
So in our home a dragon appears
Where once was love and tender care
On dark nights my eyes brim with tears
Which causes me to tremble in fear
I therefore pray that God will hear
My prayers to help us to persevere
Through this time of deep distress
In trying our very utmost best
By love the dragon will be put to rest
So my lovie and I can pass this test
Of conquering chemo's side effect
And not end up as two nervous wrecks
