This poem is dedicated to someone I lost
a very long time ago. He taught me how to live,
he taught me how to love, he taught me how to cry.
In some strange way he taught me a lot of things,
but mostly he taught me how to die.
Dedicated to my late husband. When I leave this
world I want you to come and get me.
To David
From your loving wife-Susan
There is a man, who waits for me,
where twilight ever falls,
and endlessly he watches yet I've never
heard his calls.
Eyes I feel them follow me,
wherever I might go.
A smile it fades like springs first rain,
a smile I still love so.
There is a man, who waits for me,
where daylight turns to shadow,
and when at last I hear his voice,
I'll more than gladly go.
He dwells among the dreams we shared,
and things we've yet to do.
Yes when at last he comes for me,
we'll start our lives anew.
There is a man, who waits for me,
just beyond tomorrow,
and I am here alone my friend,
lost in lover's sorrow.
He comes at times in quiet slumber,
to chase the pain away.
Yet I will hold him close once more.
when he comes for me someday.
