you see...
you see
since I was a child
people kept telling me
that I wasn't worthy
you see
all my life I've felt so empty
my heart is trapped in misery
and I'm looking for ways
every day
to set my soul free
you see,
you don't really know me
behind this smile
is a lost, lost child
I've been raped
abused, and accused
misused, I've been a fool
dropped out of high school
my life is every thing, but good news
are you amused?
are you ready to run?
I even had my eardrum shattered with
a dangerous gun
you see,
my life hasn't really been that much fun
I have a dad, but I've never had a father
you see my dad baptized my innocent
inside his hellish waters
I have a mom, but I've never had a mother
she never hugged me or told me
she loved me like no other
never really taught me a thing in life
I learned on my own, so basically all my life
I've been in strife
I'm married, but I never had a husband
he treats me like the dirt beneath his feet
never say anything kind or sweet
all he do is mistreat me
you might say all I do is blame
and call names, but I'm not ashamed
to speak the truth
I have had my share of wrong
doing too...
you see
I have wounds that just don't seem to heal
I sometimes have thoughts inside my head that just say kill
I have carried this torch of pain for countless numbers of years
you see
the word boo can't even scare away my fears
you see
I walked the streets with no escape
I constantly search for the pathway to the holy gates
but im so shattered and broken till I have little faith
blind and lost can't find my way
but every night its to my heavenly father that I pray
so now that you know
do you still want say hello
if not, I'll understand if you go
just leave a note at the door
I'll place it in my files....
which has so many styles
know that I'll seal it with a kiss
and just be left to reminisce
and Ill understand your plea
that you just can't accept me for me
