Poetry For Everyday People

Thorton Park

You're just a
snow angel princess
toasted with Cinnamon,

can I eat something off
of you?  can I hug you for
a long time?  can I lay rose
pedals at your feet?
can we both agree on how
freaking adorable
you are,

your brown flip flops under
you as you sip your wine, happy
hour in Orlando heat, your toes
painted white, your feet move
like a dancer when you drink wine,
mesmerized, words simmer,
little cottages, hip scene, wise
understanding, let live is beautiful
here,

oak trees
winking at me,
heels dangling at
the wine bar,

night turns day
at Hugh's.
