When I was a child my first exposure to poetry was Elizabeth Barrett Browning and Robert Frost. They are still my heroes. Guess that is why I write in the style I do. The style may be old, but it still holds true. For those who love the flow of words. The simple pattern of the rhythm, this is for you.
I have always written poems, thoughts, ideas,
and shown them to those people I call, friend.
Stashed my works away, hidden from my peers,
in the safety zone, where no one could offend.
My friends and family would chide and scold,
would tell me of the blessing I denied my fellow man.
So here it is the words I blend and set free,
I give you the heart, soul, and mind, the only way I can.
Perhaps somewhere someone needs a smile,
requires comfort, relief, or wants to shed a tear.
