Many things come and go
Some good
Some bad
Forever vanished
No fault of their own
They tried to live on
Millions of years past
Cavemen, dinosaurs
Mummys, riches
we will never know
Noahs Ark
Pirates
Robin Hood
Lands, Oceans
Animals
How do we know
they ever existed?
Because a book
told us so?
Were they ever real
Or a figment of
someones imagination?
Do you ever wonder?
Extinction
Do you ever think maybe
that word can apply today?
Maybe in a different way
But really just the same?
Loss of love
Death
Friends move on,
some were never
truly a friend
Children grow
Lands vanish
to money makers
Aren't all these things
Now Extinct
Never to return?
As time marches on
Do we have to move with it?
Can we wish
upon a falling star
to bring back
things
lost
loved
missed
desired
Repair a tide of emotions
racing towards me?
I cannot grieve now
I have to put it away
Come to terms with
the guilt I feel for death
Death of my emotions
Death of my love
Death of my heart
Death of my soul
Death of my life
All now extinct
Never to return
Can't grasp and
pull them back
