Headed to Oregon in 1976 and resided in Hermiston
lived my life, was a good wife, it was fun
the time has went by, over 30 years in Umatilla County
greatest, best-est, homiest, loveliest valley where my bounty
comes in so many vast-brilliant-breath-taking colors
that my-mind-shouts inside while outside-sometimes-hollers
after a few jack and cokes have hit the bottom when the floats
bring it back up to the surface in my union with Oregon where the grace
that I find
it's here and mine
it cannot be taken away
the fact this is my home to stay
that oracle in my soul
that has to roll
just like a ball
without the time to fall
it moves on
it sees the sun groovin' on
it sings my heart tune song
the place this Oregon Beaver girl does belong
because of him
because of them
my children
now my grandchildren
because he is my dam
he kept himself alive
inside he's part of who I am
together we must dive
into the serious oracle
of all the time we missed
right here as his Oregon Beaver girl
With 15 years of time on his endangered species list...
