O here is the story that unfolds
Here is the story being released, before untold
There is no pleasure without pain
There is no mountain without a valley in between
There is no rainbow without rain
There is no fragrance without crushing strain
The seed is planted deep inside
Comes to rest and even die
As the shell is broken away
New life comes forth pressing upward to the light of day
As this grows through every trial and obstacle
Pushes aside every weight and every stone
Breaks through the light of day
A new heartache now awaits
Thorns must be embraced
For they are a part of this plants race
To be stabbed in the back is one thing
But to overcome is another completely
As these thorns are embraced
And become a part of this stem deep within
Life presses onward to the glory to be revealed
No longer locked up, concealed
Petals form that are soft and pliable
Molded and shaped; surrendered and breakable
Experiencing now full bloom
Reflecting beauty throughout the room
Here is the harvest
The hardest test yet
For now comes the wind and rain
Not a petal to remain
Each falls softly to the ground
Each landing gently without a sound
Here they will fade
But there fragrance lingers, forever to remain
Knowing for a moment each petal gave life and love
Only for a moment to survive above
All worth the pain and strain
To produce the product to forever remain
May we all be a rose that took the time to grow
And allow the Gardener to master His mold
For only He can direct the path which He knows
All the pain for His glory to be shown
