A Mere Mortal

And when you go away and leave me
  thunderous clouds follow my steps
  into the long nightmarish day

I wring my hands waiting for the phone
to do it's duty, but it never happens
i peer through the window and see you, Beckoning
behind me, only to wake up from a dream...

Eight hours is a lifetime fulfilled trice over
i know i could never endure any love without you
you are a goddess stepped down from Olympus
  As for me?
I'm just a mere mortal kissing those tender lips!
