 (Paris)   Eiffel Tower

Towering high above me.
A graceful mesh of brown-painted metal.
Queuing for such a very long time,
before we could take the lift.

Up to the second floor,
no time to admire the view or explore.
Before we rush to join another queue,
up to the very top.

I'm not sure if I like this.
I'm not very good at heights.
As we keep on rising higher and higher.
Will it ever stop?

At last we reach the platform,
it's actually rather wide.
The fear I have of vertigo,
gradually begins to subside.

The views of Paris below,
are certainly spectacular.
Get out the camera, take some shots,
and some video too.

Descend once more,
and take a look,
around the souvenir shop.
Nothing worth buying in here I think,
just typical tourist stuff.

At least I can say I've done it,
I've been to the Eiffel Tower.
A magnificent feat of engineering,
and a marvelous symbol of France.
