When you hear the word Audition, we usually think of going to try out for Top
Model, American Idol, a Movie to qualify for the position. Things like that.
But as I thought of this word, Audition, last night, heres what I thought.
Life
From birth to death
Is an Audition
Birth, everyone has to see you
Make sure your have 10
fingers and toes
Who you look like
Do you have daddys nose?
As you grow, people
some you don't even know
scrutinize, your behavior
Analyze if you look like
your parents
When you start school
Other kids, look for flaws
to pick on you
See how smart you are
Daily teachers, demand
attention, you may not have
As a Teenager, parents
constantly, looking for signs
of things you shouldn't do,
blaming you for their life
casting blame, untrue
When you get a job
First, you get an interview
where your brain is picked
Demanding, you be a perfect
candidate to represent
their company, and every day
thereafter, watched like a thief
to work at Walmart for $6. an hour
The Government
Constantly under their eyes
Off you go to wars, you don't
believe in, to die a child
with no explanation to anyone
For What?
If you survive to be old
Death will come
Your "Family" who hasn't
seen you in years, makes
an apperance, to look
not really caring, just
wanting it to be over
so they can go rummage
through your lifes treasures
Take what they want and leave
Audition
Life is The Audition
We all are on the stage
