Sitting here all alone
Without a restful place for my soul
Looking at the gentle waves
Flowing from the ocean's floor
Staring at the pitch dark sky
On this lonesome night
Wish you were here by my side
But all I have is my imaginary muse
It's only an inspiration of my mind
The lightning falls
Somewhere sparks a bit
In the middle of the heavens
Across the oceans floor
All I see is a slight reflection over the shore
Still the white clouds in the sky
Slightly moving,
Quietly passing over my head
Swiftly going on by
Gentle fading lights
In the breezy night
I feel so alone
No one by my lonely side
Not one heart to open up to
And share the feelings of my soul
There is no one here
For me to uncover my heart of love
Just sheer silence all around
Except as for the waves
With passing people in the background
Preoccupied with their lives
Yet around me all is subtle quiet
As I lay my head down
With a gentle prayer in mind
For the heart to make it through the night
Hopefully again
I will arise with morning light
As the love of God and His mercy
Will be the only thing left by my lonely side
