HE TOLD ME

Computer land is fine
If you need to kill some time
If ya hook up eventually
But computer land ain't reality

You can talk the whole night long
Make your voice sing heart tunes song
Find a man
For a one night stand

Or move one in
Then turn to friends
But it ain't real
No matter what ya feel

You can't touch over the wire
No matter if your hearts on fire
You can't hold their hand or kiss their face
Computer land cannot replace

Who you have in your bed
Who holds you close breast to head
Who eats with you and pays the bills
Computer love has many ills

I know as I said I loved Tony
He said it's all a bunch of baloney
Even though nightly he was there for me
Computer land ain't the reality

Of someone with you close in skin
Of someone helping you physically mend
All the pain you hold inside
Computer land is just a place to hide

Away from those who are here real
Close your heart off, the way you feel
The tingles in your stomach there
Computer love is difficult to share

He told me you can't love over the wire
Even if his words set you on fire
They're only letters acrossed a screen
It's not loving that's mean

It's loving that is unfully true
Not the kind of love for you
It's attraction doesn't hold you at night
No matter if it feels just right

You'll want to touch and share
You'll want to to put your face in their hair
You cannot touch in computer land
I know, he told me, and I understand...
