Oh what have we done to the world?
Why are we in so much pain!
War and fear and terror in abundance;
What on earth is there to gain!
The lands that were once full and thriving,
Are now barren and void of life;
Water droughts, lack of food,
Hunger, pain and strife cut like a knife!
Oh what have we done to the world?
That causes so much hurt….
People cry in the night;
By things happening and things we blurt.
The life that was once so happy;
Now dims of smiles and laughter,
Because people the whole world over;
Don't want peace and happiness for ever-after!
Oh what have we done to the world?
Where did we go wrong?
Why is there so much pain in abundance?
Where oh where is the peace we so long?
The people cry out in misery!
Their lives are void of love and are sad;
Pain in abundance, cuts like a knife;
Oh why do things happen so sad!
Oh what have we done to the world?
Why do we cause God so much pain!
For He gave us life to live in goodness,
Yet there are killings over and over again!
Our young ones are out fighting wars,
They're trying to keep the world safe and sound!
But no matter what we do…
There is always fresh blood on the ground!!!
Oh what have we done to the world?
Why do we war, and fight and pain?
For no matter what it's over,
There will never be anything to gain!
The blood of a nation in hurt and pain,
From one country to another, so it goes!
Tell me why we have to live with fighting?
Because for everyone I've asked, nobody knows!
Because we lose the lives so precious,
For everyone related to those we have lost;
Oh why do we have war and killing?
Tell me, is it worth the cost?
