and run away to who knows when?
Where twilight's shadows fall so fair,
across two heads of tangled hair.

Body touching body and soul to soul,
each person acting out their role,
and sighing out that love is there,
but now it's run off and left us bare.

The warmth it grows into a fire,
and it lifts us up ever higher,
until we fall back to reality,
and see how foolish love can be.

No smile appears when I recall,
how we rejected and forgot it all,
for heartache knows no space or time,
and love it becomes the perfect crime.

Two hearts they used to beat as one,
but who knows what we were running from.
or why we cared enough to try,
to convince ourselves, it was just a lie.

No tears can fall, no more are there,
for dreams we two will never share.
Silly me, I had hoped you and I had found,
that one true love which would abound.
