Love Of The Immortal

The Reunion

After 36 years of searching it is not fair,
and all I can say is sorry I wasn't there,
to pick you up when you fell down,
to see your eyes go from blue to brown,
to show you rainbows in the sky,
to make you laugh when you would cry,
to see you take that small first step
to share those secrets that you've kept
to see you off to school each day
to watch the playground while you play
to hold you close when storms would blow,
to celebrate birthdays and watch you grow,
to cheer you up when you were blue
to tell you how much I love you.

Dedicated to my daughter Jennifer
