º°`°º€ Cell Phone Generation º°`°º€
Whatever would this generation of children do
If they had to live the lives we went through
In the good old days our hands were free
Not glued to a "cell" like their hands seem to be
Fun to us were lively sing-a-longs
On Sunday evenings enjoying church songs
Fresh summer walks down country lanes
The smell of the clean grass after a rain
Manners were the sign of a well bred child
We did not rush 'round our parents laughing wild
They jump up suddenly when they hear a beap
To chat all day amid clothes thrown in heaps
Ipods and cell phones are now in style
But are all these gadgets really worth while?
They rob the users of valuable time
Youngs folks go about signalling like mimes
I ask you then should we parents join the rest
Or stick to our guns to raise a firm protest?
Against these new strange "in" playthings
Which all modern kids today want to bring
I know we should all ride the waves of change
But at my age do you think it's a fair exchange
The simple habits of my past are dying hard
As they are trampled down in my own backyard
In favor of M3Players and picture cell phones
With several choices of loud dial tones
I can't get used to cordless remote controls
They appear in every cornor that can hold
And these noisy beeping expensive cell phones
When I try to answer the call I am told
"Don't bother Mother dear, don't get that call
It's just a text message after all!"
