Through The Eyes Of A Poet...

His World…

His world was sad, troubled and blue,
He had no concept of time…
He lived for the drugs that made him ill,
No, he was never feeling fine!

Marched his parents up and down the room,
Made them chant words from his head,
Put into them the fear of God,
He was twisted inside, it has to be said!

Scared the family all the time,
Begged, borrowed and stole…
He needed his fix, needed to get high,
Without them his life wasn't whole!

His was so messed up, and wrecked,
He talked to people inside his head!
Who told him over and again;
He wasn't to live, he wanted to be dead!

So he terrified his family every day,
Feared them into retreat, so they hid!
While he raged and ranted on and on,
As down the slippery slope he slid!

Went to the school were his children went,
In the yard in his bare feet he was chanting,
Told his kids they had to die…
They sent for the police, they feared his ranting!

They came and took him away that day,
Dragged off into the car right there,
While his children sad and confused looked on,
Wondering why their daddy was even there!

They kiddies all went back to play,
The incident soon forgot,
Until they went home at the end of the day,
To a mother who had been shot!

They tell the tale that he went home that day,
And chanted and raged in the house till late,
And just before the kids got home…
He killed his wife, the kids were in a state!

When they took him into the prison,
As they locked him inside his cell-
They say they felt the evil in him,
And he spiralled straight to hell!

Suicide is what they call it now,
Though the weird thing for all is to know,
How could he commit suicide in there?
When there was nothing there to help him go!

They tell he died screaming aloud,
Begging to be set free…it was so sad,
For children don't know any of this,
They don't even remember their dad…

His world was his downfall,
He lived inside a confined cold cell-
Inside his head, nothing was real…
But it took him straight to hell!

And there he resides, a saddened figure,
Alone and with no-one to tell!
Of his regret, of all he had done,
It was too late, for he was now in hell!
