A Sonnet For Him

A Sonnet For Her

Greener Pastures

I modestly tiptoe forward
into brand new territory.
Why does it feel so comfortable?
Your foreign arms,
this tight embrace
feels easy somehow.
Those tender whispers in my ear
tug gently at my memory.
I strain to recall a wisp of recognition
of your soothing voice,
but none exists.
Wonder floods my heart
at the unexpected contentment that we share.
Our bodies fit together
like puzzle pieces.
We are in total sync.
How did you know I needed you now?
Your open arms are my sanctuary.
It has taken me a while
to recognize what you are to me.
Thank you for waiting.
