From out of the cage that bound so tightly.
Ventured the bird in the prison that held…
Repressed and saddened feelings…
This past must be surely felled…
So one bright day the sun came out,
And shone on her face so sad,
And as she ventured into the light,
She was leaving behind a life so bad.
The bird began her journey,
Small and scared and in fear,
Of all that was to beheld or her,
A future uncertain and unclear!
She flew on ahead and held herself high,
Determined to make her life good,
So onward and forward she strived,
She'd do it, she knew she would.
But the life she left behind…
Made her future a scary place,
But still she stepped forwards not back,
Her past she would not retrace.
Then one fine day she met a bird so sweet,
He took her under his wing,
Swore to protect and love her,
He made the little bird's heart sing.
He wanted to bring her into the future,
To a life so normal and fine,
For this he promised her truly,
That life would come in good time.
He took her gently forward,
To a place she'd never known,
And took her to the paradise of birds,
No longer afraid and alone!
Step by step he promised her,
He would show her the way…
To live a life in glory,
One fine and wonderful day…
When the day dawned that the bird would fly,
It was a day she'd never forget…
For into the future of love and life…
She looked toward a life she'd not had yet.
So the cage that bound was opened wide,
And she, the bird flew away…
Into the wings of heaven…!
And there dawned a brand new day.
