Save The WonderInstead of being in such a rush I wish I`d stopped - a moments hush My babies now are all full grown If back then I`d only known I would have counted every minute Treasured moments deep within it Marked each tiny little hurdle Listened close to each sweet gurgle Remembered every little step Smiles and dimples - cheeks when wet All the many steps as taken Each achievement in the making If I had a wish just mine I would wander back in time Gather all those precious things Babies and young children brings Youth is busy - does not stay To count the memories on the way Only age can teach us how We should save the wonder now Before we know it songs are sung Children - adults - every one So listen youth to what I say Nothing`s better than today Time will pass and you`ll grow old And when your story`s nearly told You will wish - yes just like me You`d saved it all - in memory Vote for this poem |
