In the autumn of my life I watched the leaves,
piling up outside, blanketing the now bare trees.
A sigh, a moment spent remembering a younger day,
when still a child, I was lost in innocent play.
Each leaf it holds a thought a forgotten dream,
Life had stripped my soul bare or so it would seem.
Yet watching the trees losing their beautiful attire,
rekindles those emotions and stokes the fire.
A gust of wind, the leaves come to life once more,
and I am here with the key to a magic mystical door.
I am lost and found, recalling things I had forsaken,
Gathering them together like treasures once taken.
