SUNDAY BEST

Went to bed at the start of this fair day
Closed my eyes, said a prayer, for ten hours I did stay
In the land I love of pillows soft there
Satin smoothness touching silky brown hair

The breathing shallowness goes deep
Because I am safe, without thought, I sleep
In the blackness of the mind void I unfold
It's healing blank line leaves the young in my old

There you're surrounding my soul a half a foot away
Though apart, your closeness comes in to my space to play
With all the fun of your sun-filled energy
On this Sunday best, it's your smile in me that's set free...
