MOONLIGHT BALLET

Moonlight Ballet

Moonlight Ballet

The fairies come out to dance and play
Late at night when all is still and quiet
After resting most of the day

They form circles and play tag
Some pretending to be an old hag
laughing with glee at their gag

***********************
On a grapevine high in the breeze they performed a ballet
Minuet dancers in satin slippers on a vine trapeze
pirouette on tiny toes

Dancing to the purl rhythm round and round they whirl
flying -  darting -  dancing
Their antics amazing the squirrels

***********************

Day light peeking across the sky
Signals it's time for the wee ones to say goodbye
Tired and yawning they settle down with a sleepy sigh

Relaxing and waiting for the moonlight  bright
in a sweet pea pod they spent the day
Till they can perform another ballet in star light
