Ethereal Moments The Poetry of Donavon Scott Vinson
Pleading
An infuriating flood of bitter tears cloud my green eyes,
streaming continually, mercilessly down my rosy cheeks.
I miserably cry out your name to no avail,
because your mind is already made up.
Deep sorrow overshadows my heart,
and encompasses my soul with pain.
Remorseful,pleading spews from my lips.
I quake with awful, mind numbing despair and anger,
as I pitifully plead for you to remain by my side.
I finally realize nothing that I can say nor do can mend
the vast gulf between us.
Leaving a deep dark chasm of cold dismay within me.
Your heart has turned frigid and has cut off the flow
of warm emotion for me.
Your soul has become a barren wasteland of displaced love.
You say that I'm no longer the one for you.
My heart is left frozen and lifeless and in terrible dismay.
Overwhelming darkness fall upon my disgruntled soul.
Leaving me cold.sad, and alone as you haughtily prance
your way out of my life.
