I used to sit and watch the butterflys
chasing each other in the sunlight
Beauty at its finest, colorful, happy
Free
So what makes them fly away?
I'm like that
It's time for change
to stop missing things, those
I left
wanting to be free
Missing them
Yesterdays are gone
Neatly packed away
in a little velvet chest
In my heart
to pull out sometimes
when I am melancoly
of what might have been
If I didn't fly away
Free again
I was always on your side
stood with you no matter what
Never concerned of faithfullness
Content to be with you
as you chose it to be
Funny how I never did that before
Or since
Let you be a butterfly
It was so right
for some reason
It was a change I willingly made
It was when I too, turned
from a clingy caterpillar
To a free spirit
It was a change
that was good for me
I just wanted to say thanks
For setting me free
I will always come back
as will you
