Poetry
I turn the page,
An untouched clean slate,
Only I decide,
This paper's fate.
I write what I feel,
The words come to me,
This pen and my thoughts,
Create what the song will be.
Where's the song headed?
What story is told?
What hidden meaning,
Is there to unfold?
Writing half-awake,
When I think best,
Writing anytime else,
Is the real test.
Searching for the word,
That fits just right,
Must find that word,
If it takes all night.
Poems are puzzles,
Just think about it.
And words are pieces,
Waiting to fit.
