Climb the highest mountain, punch the face of god

I swear

By the glow of my cigarette,
I do solemnly swear
That every echo I hear
Is not my own voice;
That every star in the sky
Is not meant for me;
That all the roads I am traversing
Are ones that others have already traveled;
That every scar on my arm
Was put there by accident;
That the owl screeching warnings
Are not ones I can decipher;
That falling in love with him
Was something I could have prevented;
That all my lies were truths,
And my truths were lies;
I swear, I'm just fine.
