Softly Comes the Night
Softly comes the night, I hear her stealing........
Softly comes the night,
I hear her stealing,
across my heart,
such a lonely feeling.
I cry in the silence,
for that season,
when all my life,
was lost in reason.
Softly I hear her calling,
chanting as she nears.
Don't let her hear me weeping,
or see my bitter tears.
I sleep and find no peace,
my heart is filled with longing,
of finding love again,
and once more belonging.
