From the Heart Through the Pen

An Old Love Tale

My one and only So So
Wow it's been a while since we've really spoken
Would you believe me if I told you
How my heart is just broken down
Since you left
Or moreso since I told you to leave
My world has been upside down
Now I'm saying oh my
I was wrong
Still no regrets
But it doesn't help
Singing I'm so sick of love songs
There's so much to you that I want to say
Wishing just to have with you
One more day
But alas you walked away
And not one more word to say
Never thought the tears that fell
Would be from me
Guess that's what happens
When I hide all my feelings
So that you won't see
I saw a window of opportunity
But I wouldn't be me
If I didn't tell you that I see
I feel that it just might close
And there goes the two roads
The two paths that could lead to one
Are you really moving on
Should I give up without a fight
Are you done loving me
With all your might
So many feelings in this tired old heart
And finally the tears it releases
With the words of this poem
My heart you truly do own
I thank you for all you have done
You have given what no one else has
That I will always remember
Even past the days when this Earth is gone
I have to let you know
My heart truly does love you so
No matter how many times
You say it isn't so
I know I don't deserve you
But I will love you for the rest of my life
To have and to hold you
I'm off my feet and to my knees
If it's meant to be
He will make it happen
But seriously believe
That all the while
My heart will still be fighting
Maybe it's not too little too late
I'm letting go of my pride
These feelings I promise
I will no longer hide
So Hope, I'm holding on to you
Maybe she will see
That we are meant to be
We can seal our fate with vows
Have that Blessed ceremony
Unite and become a family
But if that's not His plan
Just please know that this man
Is so glad
To have had the pleasure
Your heart, your love, your beauty
I will forever, for always treasure
