The Mistress of Word Play

Each day God gives me life,
I live through the pain and the strife,
yet each morning, each new day,
I find the time to stop and pray.

I thank God for the sunrise,
the sunlight's kiss and azure skies.
I praise him for the extended beauty,
And I pray out of desire, not duty.

At times when all is going right,
I put on the brakes and stop mid-flight,
and remember from whom all blessings flow,
Yes, I tell the Maker, “I love you so!”

Each day God grants me peace and grace,
as I feel rain falling upon my upturned face,
I thank him for each new day,
And find the time to stop and pray.
