My Sanity and Insanity

(A Night In) The Life of a Criminal

Twas' the night of 4/20,
And all thru the warehouse,
Every creature was stoned,
Every single louse.

There I was,
Giving mad props,
When suddenly,
There was the cops.

"Busted!" I thought,
As I ran out the door,
The cops broke in,
Flooded the floor.

They chased after me,
Everyone else got away,
They were right on my tail,
I knew I couldn't stay.

Next thing I know,
I hear a shot ring out,
I ducked and rolled,
Just missed the bullet's route.

Once outside,
I thought, "Thank God,"
I jacked a car,
A nice hot rod.

Cruisin' at 90,
Down the streets of Detroit,
I say, "What the hell!?",
And light up another joint.

Then out from the blue,
Comes a cop, then there's two,
I dodge one, miss the other,
I hop the curb, they hit each other.

"Hell Yeah!" I scream,
As I take a turn,
My engine shakes,
My tires burn.

"Just great," a road block,
I suck a popsicle,
I back the car up,
To jump the obstacle.

I floor it hard,
To make the hop,
I lose control,
Can't make it stop.

I miss the ramp,
My tires pop,
I wake up later,
Face to face with a cop.

...I went to jail,
Spent ten years there,
But now I'm out,
Back on the tear.
