I've been down this road before,
not worth the hurt and heartache.
Don't want to go that way no more,
tired of all the give and take.
The road is long and I am weary,
there seems to be no end in sight.
All my days are cold and dreary,
I have to hope things turn out right.
Guess the trip's not worth the worry,
just all seems a waste of time.
I'll take it slow, no need to hurry,
losing hope is such a crime.
Looked around love lies in the distance,
can't seem to find the things I need.
Maybe with some persistence,
one day I can and will succeed.
