I Penned the Words Into Your Book
I penned the words into your book......
I penned the words into your book,
but yet I did not add my name,
for it would have been a crime,
if you had someone to blame.
Instead I hoped in some strange way,
to pull you from the spider's grip.
Before she could devour your soul,
or from you the shred of sanity strip.
It was for love of the poet,
for love of the person, love of a friend,
the messages were written,
to protect and save, not to offend.
I, too have walked too close,
and thought I could escape the knife,
thought I knew when to draw back,
my walk in darkness almost cost me my life.
I will trust you when you say,
that you are fine and know your way.
I grew concerned don't know what for,
and I won't trouble you anymore.
